The Argentina play maker and Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi may win the 2015 golden boot when you consider his current scoring rate. He is closely chased by Cristiano Ronaldo both by the number of goals and the points recorded. With the brace he had against Elba a few days Messi’s goal tally has gone up to 32. He not only tops the goal scoring chart in the la liga, he also tops the goal scoring chart in Europe. The relationship between the goals scored and the points received is based on what they call co-efficient. The scoring ranking is therefore based on the co-efficient. It is basically the quality of the league. While countries like Spain, England, Germany, Italy, Portugal are rated highly as a goal in these leagues gets two points, which makes Messi’s 32goals yields 64points, the Estonia league is rated lowly which makes a goal in that league to yield one point which makes Kabaev 36 goals to be 36 points. Other leagues such France, Holland, and Austria has a goal equivalent to 1.5points. Below is the ranking for the golden boot as at 17/3/2015.
‘It is disingenuous to accuse everyone who calls for restructuring as trying to break up the county. History tells us that that kind of cheap blackmail will not work as long as the underlying reasons for the agitations persist.’
‘The biggest challenge seems to be that we seem to be allowing moderate voices on this issue to be drowned out by the reckless utterances of a few rabble rousers on all sides who may be tools in the hands of those who do not wish this country well. These are some of the people who arrogate to themselves the toga of spokespersons of our diverse groups.’
