Stephen Gerrard and Frank Lampard for honours
The duo of Stephen Gerrard and Frank Lampard will be honoured by the PFA on Sunday for their contribution to English football. Both Gerrard and Lampard will be awarded with the special merit awards by the PFA as their careers in the Premier league winds down.
The football’s union will be hosting their annual awards ceremony on Sunday and Gerrard and Lampard will be their special guests as they are honoured for their outstanding contribution not only to the premier league but also to the England national team.
Both mid fielders for country and clubs will be moving to the USA to play in the major league. By the end of the season, Stephen Gerrard will be leaving Liverpool fc and Frank Lampard will also leave Chelsea fc. While Gerrard is moving to LA Galaxy, Lampard has since joined the New York City FC as he has been with Manchester City on secondment.
Between them, they have won 19 trophies, 2 UEFA Champions league trophies, 2 UEFA Europa league trophies for their various clubs. Both have also made 220 appearances for the England national team. Most of their playing time was committed to their present clubs. They loyalty to their various club has also been recognised by the PFA. Stephen Gerrard spent most of his career in Liverpool and Frank Lampard spent most part of his career in Chelsea. The PFA will today acknowledge their exceptional contribution to English football.
