Rivers Guber Tribunal: PDP tenders evidence of credible election
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Thursday opened its defence of the election of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike by tendering from the bar incident forms used for the April 11 governorship election to prove that manual accreditation validly took place alongside card reader accreditation.
Also on Thursday, the PDP tendered oath of neutrality and forms forms of all INEC officials who participated in the governor election at the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja under the Chairmanship of Justice Suleiman Ambrosa.
Ifedayo Adedipe (SAN ), who led the PDP legal team announced that the incident forms were for Obio/Akpor LGA.
He told the tribunal that the oath of neutrality and affirmation forms tendered were for 18 Local Government Areas.
The Local Government Areas are; Port Harcourt, Obio /Akpor, Eleme, Gokana, Khana, Gokana, Okirika, Ogu /Bolo, Ahoada East, Ahoada West, Tai, Ikwerre, Abua /Odual, Andoni, Opobo /Nkoro, Bonny, Ogba /Egbema /Ndoni and Oyigbo.
He said that both set of election documents were tendered to fault the allegations by the Rivers State APC and her candidate, Dakuku Peterside that the oath of neutrality was not administered on the INEC adhoc staff who conducted the election.
Adedipe added that the Rivers State APC had also alleged that incident forms were not used during the governorship election, hence the PDP had to tender the incident forms that the party lied to the tribunal.
The PDP Counsel noted that the PDP is committed to assisting the tribunal reach a decision through the relevant documents.
He added that more documents will be tendered by the party on Friday, in addition to presenting more witnesses to prove her case.
In his submission , counsel to Rivers State APC, Akin Olujimi, SAN, objected to the admissibility of the documents, but stated that he will give his reasons at the state of final written addresses.
Ruling, Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Suleiman Ambrosa admitted all the documents tendered by the PDP as exhibits before the court.
