PDP foundation members want National Chairman to resign

Sen-Abubakar-Halilu-Girei
Some founding fathers of the People’s Democratic Party,PDP,have yesterday resolved to demand for the resignation of the National Chairman of the party,Alhaji Adamu Mua’zu and his members in the National Working Committee of the party if  the party fails to win at least 20 governorship seats today.

The spokesman of the founding fathers of PDP,Senator Abubakar Halilu Girei, told reporters in Yola  ,that he in collaboration with others spirited foundation members had  resolved to demand for their resignation if the party fails to get at least  20 out of the 36 states of the federation.

According to him,the PDP stakeholders have smelt rat in the process of nomination and the emergence of governorship candidates that were not popular with their people but by sheer greasing of the palms of NWC members they emerge as candidates at the expense of those popular with the people.

Girei and his fellow collaborators, disclosed that the decision was informed by series of petitions ,complaints of aggrieved governorship aspirants, and the allegation that money exchange hands between those offered the governorship tickets.

He however, said if the party wins at least the targeted 20 governorship seats ,the feats would bail them out,and may not be asked to resign their positions as the National Working Committee of the party.

The proponents, also resolved that in the alternative, they should resign honourably from their positions if the party fails to win the 20 states in the governorship,or follow the required processes for their expulsion from the party.

According to them, their expulsion would pave for the desired transformation, where real politicians with high integrity will be installed as leaders who will avoid impunity ,disrespect to the rule of law and abuse of power.

Adding ,” We earnestly want PDP leaders that will truly give power to the people and not for their selfish ends.We want to transform, rebuild and rejuvenate the PDP with ”
