Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, on Thursday, felicitated with the former General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Dr. Wilson Adebogun Badejo, who turns 70 on May 19, 2017.
In a statement by his media aide, Laolu Akande, in Abuja, the acting president said he “warmly joins all church leaders and Christendom in congratulating the former General Overseer, who turns 70 on May 19, 2017.”
He felicitated with all members of the church, friends and family of Rev. Badejo, who has worked assiduously in spreading the gospel to various corners of the country, and across the world.
“Prof. Osinbajo commends the foresight and large-heartedness of the former General Overseer in instituting the Wilson Badejo Foundation to cater for the poor and vulnerable, amplifying his regular message that the church remains the last hope of the downtrodden.
“As he becomes a septuagenarian, the Acting President believes Rev. Badejo’s zeal for serving God will be rekindled, recommending his attributes of self-discipline, unwavering commitment to the truth, and love for the poor, to younger and upcoming ministers of God and all Nigerians alike.
“The Acting President wishes that the almighty God will grant the former General Overseer longer life, good health and strength to keep spreading, and living the gospel.
“As his days are, so shall his favor with God be,” the statement said.
‘It is disingenuous to accuse everyone who calls for restructuring as trying to break up the county. History tells us that that kind of cheap blackmail will not work as long as the underlying reasons for the agitations persist.’
‘The biggest challenge seems to be that we seem to be allowing moderate voices on this issue to be drowned out by the reckless utterances of a few rabble rousers on all sides who may be tools in the hands of those who do not wish this country well. These are some of the people who arrogate to themselves the toga of spokespersons of our diverse groups.’
