BBC reported that an unnamed diplomat has confirmed that they will be visiting the island on Saturday. This is an indication that the Indonesian government have rejected all pleas from nations around the world to spare the lives of the drug convicts. According to the diplomat, ‘we still don’t know when the actual date of the execution will happen but we expect that it will be in days.’
The spokesman for the Indonesian Attorney General’s office said the prosecutors had been told to prepare for their execution. The lawyer to the two Australians who had earlier been sentenced has expressed worry that the legal processes have not been exhausted. The plea from the Australian government for the two Australians had been rejected by the Indonesian President Joko Widodo who said that drugs are killing the country.
