Following the resignation of Adamu as Secretary General earlier in the week, the Nigerian Football federation, NFF, has promoted the director of competition , Mohammed Sanusi as the new Secretary General.
Sanusi told the media that he planned to restore peace in the football house and urged the media to support his plans. According to him, one of his goals will be to get sponsors for all the various levels of the game in Nigeria. This is in line with the aspiration of the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick.
He also said he will develop football at the Grass root level so that the teams perform well in all competitions. His ambition is to take Nigerian football to an enviable position.’ I will want us to move to the new building as quickly as possible’, he said. On the issue of the Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi, he said the technical study committee and the technical department will soon resolve the issue of Keshi’s contract.
He appealed for support for the Flying Eagles team who he hopes will win the competition on Sunday march 22, for the 7th time. He said all the entitlements for the Flying Eagles will be ready before the final match against Senegal on Sunday.
"They called Goodluck Jonathan, who gave you YouWIN and SURE-P, and PRESSID Scholarships clueless. So what do we call APC that gives you wheelbarrow? They said GEJ was tribalistic yet his NSA, CDS, IGP, CNS, CGP and minister of defense were from the North. So what do we say of President Muhammadu Buhari whose DG DSS is from his own hometown and whose Minister of Defense, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Air Staff, NSA, IGP, CGP, CGI, CGP are all from his Northern Region? You see, no matter how far falsehood has travelled, it must eventually be overtaken by truth!"
