Following a scheduled industrial strike by the Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (NATCA), the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Senator Joel Danlami Ikenya, has planned to meet with the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN)/Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (NATCA) and other stakeholders in the Aviation Sector.
The meeting is scheduled to hold on Monday, April 20 2015 by 10:00 am at the minister’s conference room, Federal Secretariat Complex, Phase 1 Abuja.
“It will have in attendance the following stakeholders: the Honourable Minister of Aviation, the Chairman National Salaries Income and Wages Commission, MD/CEO Nigerian Air Space Management Agency (NAMA), leaderships of Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) and the Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (NATCA),” a statement made available by the ministry on Friday said.
The meeting, according to the statement, is in continuation of the intervention of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity in the dispute and also aimed at resolving the issues raised by the Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (NATCA) in the worker’s press release.
“IPOB is being sponsored by those I will call the Coalition of the politically disgruntled and the treasury looters. They believe that by sponsoring this group to destabilize the country and trigger chaos, they will realize their ambition of escaping justice and then be free to dip their hands into the nation’s treasury again.”
