President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of Dr. Adeshola Olutunde Adepoju as the Executive Director, Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN).
The appointment was conveyed in a letter dated 7th April, 2015, and signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim Pius.
Until his appointment, Adepoju was the rector of the Federal College of Forestry, Jos.
The president said it is hoped that with his appointment, Dr. Adepoju would bring his wealth of knowledge in technical, administrative and management experience to bear in running the affairs of Institute.
“The appointment took effect from 1st April, 2015 and is expected to last for a period of four years,” a statement from the Federal Ministry of Environment said.
An accomplished administrator, Dr. Adepoju holds a Doctorate (PhD) degree in Agricultural Economics with specialisation in Agriculture/Environmental Economics from the Ahmadu Bello University as well as Masters (M.Sc) and Bachelor (B.Sc) degrees from the same University.
Dr. Adepoju is happily married with children.
‘It is disingenuous to accuse everyone who calls for restructuring as trying to break up the county. History tells us that that kind of cheap blackmail will not work as long as the underlying reasons for the agitations persist.’
