Ngillari who denied his administration involvement in the impeachment of Fintiri by a group of lawmakers who elected Jerry Kundisi- member representing Gombi constituency as new Speaker and Umar Abdulkarim- representing Nasarawo/Binyeri constituency as Deputy Speaker said he has no option in recognizing the new leadership house and hope to work with them in the interest of the state.
Ngilari who spoke to newsmen in Yola through his Director Public Affairs, Mr Phineas Elisha, on the development said as far as he was concern their was change in Adamawa House of Assembly and the new Speaker is Mr Jerry Kundisi.
” As far as His Excellency is concern, the new Speaker is Honorable Jerry Kundisi and for now that is the government position.
” This clarification has become very necessary following what happened. His Excellency Bala Ngilari want to state clearly that what happened in the state House of Assembly is the house internal affairs.
” There is no interference from the state government or the state Governor himself as a person”, Elisha said.
On the sitting by Kundisi group in Government House, Elisha said that following continuous closure of the House of Assembly, the group had to look for a secure place and that was why they choose Government House on their own for security reason.
He described the sitting on Wednesday at the state assembly complex presided by Fintiri where resolutions were passed including the one directing the state government to recalled the dismissed Director General of Bureau for Public Procurement, Mallam Bello Umar, as unnecessary pointing out that as far as Adamawa Government was concern, Fintiri is now a former speaker and any sitting presided by him would not be recognize by the state government.
Elisha denied allegation that the director was removed for querying dubious contracts by the administration saying that he was sacked for revealing official secrets to the media in violation of his oath of office.
“To fear the world US has led for the better part of a century, abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe and refuse the obligations of international leadership… for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solving problems is unpatriotic. “
