Bukar, raised the alarm in an interview with Newsmen in Yola on Monday.
He complained that Adamawa government was not serious about the development programmes of the ITF in the state.
” I am not happy about the zero participation attitude of Adamawa state government.
” Because ITF programmes are directly assisting and alleviating the problems of the teeming unemployed youths in the state through the skills training.” Bukar said.
He said that the area of major concern with the Adamawa government was lack of support to the trainees after their graduation.
” We expect government to assist these youths with take up fund after their training so they can start their small businesses.” He said.
According to the area manager,in the last three years , the fund trained over 3,000 youths in the state in various industrial skills programme.
He noted that every year, one thousand idle youths from 21 LGAs of the state were recruited and trained in soap making, tailoring , Air fresheners and Deodorants and polythene re- cycling.
” Each trainee is giving monthly allowance of five thousand naira for the duration of three months.” He added
‘It is disingenuous to accuse everyone who calls for restructuring as trying to break up the county. History tells us that that kind of cheap blackmail will not work as long as the underlying reasons for the agitations persist.’
‘The biggest challenge seems to be that we seem to be allowing moderate voices on this issue to be drowned out by the reckless utterances of a few rabble rousers on all sides who may be tools in the hands of those who do not wish this country well. These are some of the people who arrogate to themselves the toga of spokespersons of our diverse groups.’
