Governor Ngilari dismisses fraud allegation

Governor Bala Ngilari of Adamawa state has dismissed fraud allegation against his administration saying the allegation was a desperate move by the state Ex-Director General of  Bureau of Public Procure (BPP), Mallam Bello Umar to blackmail him for sacking him.

Ngilari also described the resolution passed by the Adamawa House of Assembly under Hon Ahmadu Fintiri who he described as “Former Speaker” that urged EFCC to probe his administration as an attempt to by Fintiri to get at him for recognizing the emergence of Hon Jerry Kundisi as the new Speaker of the house.

Ngilari who spoke through his Director Public Affairs, Mr P.P Elisha, said contrary to allegations, the sacked Director General was given the boot for leaking government secret to media and not for querying the purchase of 50 hilux vans and two bullet proof jeeps.

He explained that the said purchased of 50 hilux vans at the cost of N400 million was normal pointing out that the market prize of the van is N6 million.

” If you calculate 50 hilux for N400 million the cost will be around N8 million per hilux which is normal in contract because in contract you allow some margins to take care of VAT and other expenses”

He said the description of the bullet proof jeeps said to be purchased by the government as fairly used was also a mischievous attempt to blackmail the government.

He said the  query issued by the sacked DG over the contracts was being attended to by relevant authorities and wonder why the sacked DG and Fintiri were “rushing to invite EFCC”

” The former Speaker Fintiri just want to take his pound of flesh using a shady report given by the sacked DG”.
