Facebook’s Zuckerberg to testify before US house Commerce panel

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is to testify before the US House Committee on Energy and Commerce on April 11, 2018.

The House panel’s Republican chairman Greg Walden and a top Democrat Frank Pallone in a statement said: “This hearing will be an important opportunity to shed light on critical consumer data privacy issues and help all Americans better understand what happens to their personal information online.”

Last month, Facebook hired a forensic auditor to investigate if Cambridge Analytica still the data. Cambridge Analytica was said to have worked with US President Donald Trump’s campaign organisation in the 2016 Presidential election and had access to 50 million Facebook users.
