One of the officers of the contractors for the supply of card readers to INEC who was detained by the department of state security, DSS has sued the DSS for N100m. The officer, Muhammad Sani Musa has sued the DSS for his continued detention. In a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/292/2015, he asked the court to declare that the action of the DSS was illegal, unconstitutional and a gross abuse of his fundamental human rights. He has asked for an injunction restraining the DSS and its agents perpetually from further harassing, intimidating arresting and detaining him again upon his release especially as it relates to the card readers that were used by INEC at the March28election.
He said he was invited by the director general of DSS and upon honouring the invitation he was detained. He has not been charged and no charges pressed against him. He said he was detained along his boss , the CEO of Act Technologies ltd. Musa’s wife Mrs Sa’adatu Musa said she has been denied access to see her husband.
‘It is disingenuous to accuse everyone who calls for restructuring as trying to break up the county. History tells us that that kind of cheap blackmail will not work as long as the underlying reasons for the agitations persist.’
