The Arsenal chief negotiator, Dick Law has travelled to Argentina to finalise the transfer of the Argentine young sensation Maxi Romero who is also called the next Lionel Messi. Maxi Romero 16 is in the junior team of Velez Sarfield. Reports say talks are advance stage between Arsenal and Velez for a 4.5million pounds swoop of the teenage sensation.
The deal has been held up over ownership rights. Romero’s agents and his club Velez both own stakes in the player, and this is a source of concern to Arsenal. Arsenal wants the issue of ownership resolved because of the premier league strict rules of third party ownership.
The young star who is yet to make the senior team in Velez will remain on loan to Velez for at least two more season before going to England to begin his career in Arsenal.
‘It is disingenuous to accuse everyone who calls for restructuring as trying to break up the county. History tells us that that kind of cheap blackmail will not work as long as the underlying reasons for the agitations persist.’
‘The biggest challenge seems to be that we seem to be allowing moderate voices on this issue to be drowned out by the reckless utterances of a few rabble rousers on all sides who may be tools in the hands of those who do not wish this country well. These are some of the people who arrogate to themselves the toga of spokespersons of our diverse groups.’
