The governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido at the commissioning of the Shiroro Bridge at the Shiroro local government of Niger state, asked the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to give Nigerians excuses for any failure. They must fulfil their promises to Nigerians, he said. He was the guest along with the Etsu Nupe Yahaya Abubakar, the Emir of Minna Umar Bahago among others at the commissioning of the bridge.
According to Lamido, ‘we will not tolerate any excuses, whatever the APC is , they owe it to the PDP because the PDP one way or the other brought almost all of them into politics. He said to Buhari and the APC, ‘you must fulfil all your promises, because there was no condition given on how to do it, when you were campaigning for election. Whether the economy is favourable or not, do not give us any excuses.
He added that it is about time for the APC to reflect because Nigerians will definitely hold them accountable. They must fulfil all their promises.
‘It is disingenuous to accuse everyone who calls for restructuring as trying to break up the county. History tells us that that kind of cheap blackmail will not work as long as the underlying reasons for the agitations persist.’
‘The biggest challenge seems to be that we seem to be allowing moderate voices on this issue to be drowned out by the reckless utterances of a few rabble rousers on all sides who may be tools in the hands of those who do not wish this country well. These are some of the people who arrogate to themselves the toga of spokespersons of our diverse groups.’
