President Good luck Jonathan and the President-elect Muhammadu Buhari met at the presidential villa Abuja in what observers say is in furtherance of the process of note taking as to the steps both parties have taken on the transition. President-elect Buhari came in a convoy of four vehicles about 9pm.
Although the meeting was said to be private, it is expected that they would have discussed a few of the thorny issues relating to the transition arrangements. The meeting that lasted about 30minutes could not have gone into any form of detailed formality. The meeting perhaps could have discussed how both parties could urge their aides to tone down their language since the elections have been won and lost. This is the third time that both leaders will be meeting after General Muhammadu Buhari was declared the winner of the March 28 Presidential election.
President Jonathan had earlier informed the media that he will be taking the president-elect Buhari on a tour of the presidential villa.it is obvious that it was not done and no one knows when that will be done.
“IPOB is being sponsored by those I will call the Coalition of the politically disgruntled and the treasury looters. They believe that by sponsoring this group to destabilize the country and trigger chaos, they will realize their ambition of escaping justice and then be free to dip their hands into the nation’s treasury again.”
