Mike Emenalo quits Monaco after nearly two years on mutual agreement

French giants AS Monaco have announced the departure of its sporting director Michael Emenalo after spending almost two years with the club.

The club said both parties decided to put an end to their collaboration by mutual agreement.

The former Super Eagles defender who was reportedly on a salary of 100, 000 euro monthly joined the Principality side on November 2017 from Chelsea where he spent six years.

“I want to thank AS Monaco for giving me the opportunity to discover the French championship
and wish the Club and supporters a great season 2019/2020,” Emenalo said on the club website.

He lost the confidence of his employers for some of the players he recruited for the club.

Under him, Monaco signed France youth internationals Willem Geubbels and Wilson Isidor, Russia midfielder Aleksandr Golovin, Germany fullback Benjamin Henrichs, and England U19 international Jonathan Panzo.
