Salam gave the advice in a statement in Abuja, following the Supreme Court’s judgment which affirmed Gov. Gboyega Oyetola’s governorship election victory.
The apex court had dismissed Sen. Ademola Adeleke, the PDP candidate’s appeal, challenging the declaration of Oyetola as duly elected governor of the state.
”Be that as it may, I wish to urge all party leaders and members to remain strong and resolute in our pursuit of good governance in our dear State.
”I wish to especially salute our Governorship Candidate, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, for displaying a very amazing sense of courage and steadfastness in the midst of the turbulent struggle for the retrieval of his mandate.
”Sen. Adeleke has indeed earned even more respect, love and acceptability in the last 10 months than he had in all his previous years of involvement in politics.
”The PDP family in Osun is surely blessed to have him and the illustrious Adeleke Dynasty as its rallying point in the last one year,” he said.
He enjoined the party faithful to consolidate on the gains of the struggle and work harmoniously for the tasks ahead as an opposition party.
Salam, who represents Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency, urged the party members to continue to offer alternate views, perspective, and programmes to the party in government ”while keeping our focus on the greater good of Osun.”
”I admonish all members of the PDP in all 30 Local Governments and Ife East Area office to remain unshaken in their support for the various organs of the party leadership,” he remarked
