Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi, SAN has promised to take appropriate steps to ensure that ongoing contracts across the state are delivered in strict compliance with contract details.
Inspecting the 9.3Kilometre Arimogija / Igboruwin / Ute Road in Ose Local Government Area, Governor Akeredolu said it was a deliberate policy of his administration to create time to inspect the pace and quality of jobs being undertaken by contractors working on various infrastructural projects across the state.
He said through the policy of constant inspection, the State Government has been able to determine the performance level of the contractors working on projects for the state within the context of the contract specifications and therefore take informed decisions for the good of citizens of the state.
The governor who was accompanied by his Special Adviser on Lands, Works and Infrastructure, Engineer Raimi Aminu, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Eng Taiwo Otun and some engineers from the firm handling the road project assured that the speed of delivery of work on the road would soon be accelerated while noticeable areas of concerns would be discussed with the contractor for positive adjustments.
“Over thirty contractors are currently working for us on various road projects across the state. So if one or two of them are being faced with one challenge or the other, we are ready to listen to them and find plausible solutions”, he said.
Arakunrin Akeredolu explained that he was at the project site to see the level of work done, pointing out that it was the plan of his administration to get the road rehabilitated and asphalted.
Also, the governor and his team inspected the Ipele township roads and the Ipele / Iyere / Owo Road.
